Crown Flow™ is a therapeutic relaxation experience developed by Alicia L. DePeal, LMT, owner of Balanced Spirit, LLC in Coal Township, Pennsylvania.

Crown Flow™ integrates therapeutic touch, gentle hydrotherapy, and structured relaxation techniques designed to support the body’s natural relaxation response and overall sense of well-being.

Within the scope of massage therapy practice, techniques may incorporate the application of water, lubricants, and manual soft-tissue manipulation to promote relaxation and general wellness. Crown Flow™ applies these principles through a structured therapeutic experience designed to calm the nervous system and encourage deep restorative relaxation.

The Crown Flow™ approach was inspired in part by traditional wellness philosophies such as Ayurvedic practices and Traditional Chinese Medicine concepts related to balance and circulation. Drawing from these influences, along with modern massage therapy education and hydrotherapy principles, the experience has been developed through more than a year of focused study, training, and practical refinement.

Crown Flow™ is provided as a therapeutic wellness service performed by a Licensed Massage Therapist and is not intended to be a cosmetic, cosmetology, or medical service.

In addition to serving clients at Balanced Spirit, the Crown Flow™ method is also being developed as an educational framework for professional massage therapists and may be used in future continuing education courses pending approval through recognized continuing education provider programs.

The Crown Flow™ Experience

Consultation

As with any professional massage service at Balanced Spirit, each session begins with a brief consultation. During this time, the practitioner reviews health history, sensitivities, and comfort preferences in order to provide services safely and within the professional scope of massage therapy practice.

Flow

During the session, warm hydrotherapy flows through a specialized basin while therapeutic relaxation techniques are applied. Gentle rhythmic touch combined with the sensory experience of warm water supports deep relaxation and encourages the body’s natural restorative processes.

Organic topical preparations may be used during the session to enhance comfort and facilitate smooth therapeutic application.

Renewal

The experience concludes with grounding techniques designed to help the body integrate the relaxation response. Clients commonly report a sense of deep calm, mental clarity, and physical ease following the session.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my hair become wet during the session?

Yes. Because hydrotherapy is incorporated into the experience, the hair and surrounding areas will become wet during the session.

What should I avoid leading up to my session?

While your scalp and hair should be clean upon arrival, we recommend using little to no hair products at least the day of your service.

Should I come with my hair already wet?

No. Your hair should be dry. This service is performed in a specific manor and begins with dry scalp massage techniques, slowly introducing a special blend of herbal infused oils.

Does it matter if I have products in my hair upon arrival?

We recommend arriving to your crown flow session with little to no products in your hair if possible. This will help lower the likelihood of possible interactions with oils and botanicals.

Can I enjoy this service with extensions?

Unfortunately we are not equipped to handle any problems that may arise due to the nature of this service(not sure how to word this. Clearly don’t want to be accused of discriminating)

How long is a session?

Crown Flow™ sessions are typically offered in 60-minute and 90-minute formats.

Sessions may incorporate therapeutic massage techniques involving the face, neck, and shoulders, while extended sessions may also include arms, hands, or feet depending on the structure of the experience.

Is this a beauty or hair service?

Absolutely not. Crown Flow™ is not a cosmetic, beauty, or hair service. It is strictly intended for therapeutic purposes only.

Will my hair be wet when I leave?

While heat and blow drying is not recommended within the first 24 hours, we do understand that some may be uncomfortable leaving with wet hair. Therefore a self blow drying station will be available and those who wish will be given10-15min to dry their hair.

Why is not blow drying and styling NOT recommended after this service?

  1. The scalp may be extra sensitive and may become irritated from brushed and hair products, as well as heat and 2- heat can not only interrupt the natural healing process but immediate heat exposure can dehydrate the scalp by evaporating the special botanicals used during your session.

Currently, Balanced Spirit practitioners are licensed Massage therapists and/or estheticians and are not licensed to preform cosmetology services as part of this experience. Crown Flow™ is provided solely as a therapeutic relaxation service within the scope of massage therapy practice.
